An excellent place with very good service; the entire staff was highly efficient, and the premises were very clean and tidy. It is in a great location, though there is no on-site parking; we parked in a private lot a short distance away. Our order was ready quickly—it was very busy when we arrived at 5 PM—but everything was excellent.

The greeting walking up to the area was so inviting. We were seated with Monica who is a fantastic waitress. Her personality and vibe really set the tone for me and my partner. The atmosphere was beautiful music and over all feel was beautiful. This place is great for a family outing or a date night. Food was delicious the Salsa options are great! Definitely coming back!!! Not to mention the decore was really cute!

Authentic food with a fantastic atmosphere! The fajita chicken was a little dry, but the carne guisada was great. Service provided was excellent! You can't ask for better outdoor seating as Casa Catrina is on the river bend with mulitiered seating with unobstructed views.

Good food, tasty drinks and a lively atmosphere. On the Riverwalk so it’s a cool spot to stop for some good food and even better drinks. Kinda small but big on service. Everyone was busy but stayed on top of things Servers were hustling and the food keep coming. All looked and smelled delicious. Only stopped to cool down and had some drinks. Will be back 🎉

We had 5:30 PM reservations on New Year’s Eve. After waiting 30 minutes, our food arrived completely cold: beans, rice, and both fajita skillets. Cold meat is unacceptable. My spouse can tolerate cold food and hates to complain, but also felt it was unacceptable. I personally will not eat cold meat, especially when I’m paying $21 for a fajita plate. I even offered for the waitress to touch the meat herself to confirm how cold it was. Our waitress, Monica P, was excellent: apologetic, attentive, and proactive. She immediately informed the kitchen and manager advocating for us The issue was management. Despite being told our food was cold, the manager (Ruby) avoided our table, made eye contact, turned away, and passed by multiple times without addressing us. There was no attempt to de-escalate, take ownership, or properly recover the experience. The fajitas were remade and came out hot, but the beans and rice were still cold, even the second time. Does Casa Catrina serve cold beans and rice as a normal practice? Only after my family had finished eating did the manager finally stop by with a generic, “Is everything okay?” As she turned to walk away, I had to call her back and ask if she’d been informed that all of our food originally came out cold. She said, “Yes, we are very apologetic,” and mentioned they’d be taking something off my chicken fajita plate. $2.10 was taken off the bill essentially my military discount which felt dismissive given the situation. Monica P deserves recognition. She was the only reason this didn’t completely blow up. She handled the situation professionally and with empathy. I truly hope servers don’t have to tip out managers like this. Dressing cute and walking around the floor isn’t management. She needs training. Good management shows accountability, guest engagement, and service recovery. None of that happened here. Monica P did her job well; management did not. I won’t be returning.
