NowitzkiZ a month agoMaiz Cocina Mexican is truly a hidden gem that we keep coming back to. We’ve visited several times now, and every single experience has been consistently excellent. The service is always warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which makes a big difference. The food is the real standout—authentic, rich, and full of flavor. You can tell there’s care put into every dish, from the ingredients to the presentation. It’s the kind of place where you start craving your next visit before you’ve even finished your meal. On top of that, the decor throughout the restaurant is beautiful and thoughtfully done, adding to the overall atmosphere. It’s a great spot whether you’re going for a casual meal or bringing friends to show off a great find. Highly recommend checking it out!
Carlos J a month agoThe place is nice, and the service is very good, but the food we ordered was a little off. Mole enchiladas - Loaded with cinnamon...like WAY too much. I've eaten a lot of mole in my life and I've never had it like this. If this is the way they make their mole, I won't order it if and when I give them another try. Taquitos con guacamole - They were good, but not for 6 mini taquitos at $14. Birria Tacos with cheese - The beef was decent, but not at all stewed in guajillo chile. The tortillas were very good. The birria that came tacos tasted nothing like I've ever had. The birria consomé didn't have a lick of chile flavor in it. That's what birria is supposed to be. It was more of a tomato-heavy liquid a la Mexicana sauce. Enchiladas verdes - VERY good. The sauce was perfect, and the proportion of everything in the enchiladas was perfect. Quesadilla de maíz - VERY good! Just like my mom used to make. The flight of salsas we we ordered was good. Nothing stellar, but good. The chile de arbol salsa was the winner. The chips were perfect. I neve write off a restaurant after after one try, especially when most of the things we tried were good. I'll try them again sometime soon.
Mimi a month agoAuthentic handmade Mexican tortillas and delicious food 🌮 We tried the caldo de res and flautas de res — everything was very tasteful, hot, and fresh straight from the kitchen. The service was great and the staff stayed very organized even with the small space. Family friendly atmosphere with table seating only. Definitely worth trying!
Linda Olivares 2 months agoWe had such a wonderful experience from the moment we walked in. They made us feel like royalty, escorted us to our table, pulled out our chairs, and even gave me a purse hanger which I loved. But the food… wow. I had the enchiladas de pollo with maíz sauce, and honestly they were the best enchiladas I’ve ever had. Absolutely perfect. And the café de olla reminded me of home ❤️ truly delightful from start to finish. My husband also had the chilaquiles maiz, which were also amazing. Highly recommend if you want a great experience!
Daniela Zuniga • The Dani Table 3 months agoBeautiful place with a very authentic Mexican vibe. The atmosphere is cozy, detailed, and perfect for a nice breakfast or brunch. We tried café de olla, chilaquiles (divorciados with discada), and pancakes. Everything tasted great — the salsas felt homemade and full of flavor, and the pancakes were soft and perfectly cooked. Service by José was excellent. He was attentive and gave great recommendations. The only downside is the pricing. For a breakfast spot, it feels a bit on the higher side (for example, $12 for pancakes). It’s definitely worth trying for the experience, but not necessarily a place I would visit often. Overall, really good food and a beautiful spot — just a little pricey.
