I was really excited to try Little Rey for the first time, especially with all the buzz about it in Raleigh’s Iron Works district. Unfortunately, our experience fell well short of expectations. While the atmosphere and service were fine, the food itself was just underwhelming and definitely didn’t live up to the hype. We’ve eaten at places like Gym Tacos, Fritos Burgers and Tacos, and G Tacos (another local favorite), and those spots deliver much more bold, satisfying flavors and better value for what you pay. At Little Rey, we found the tacos and other dishes to be pretty bland and not worth the price, especially when there are so many better Mexican/taco options around town. It may be great for some, but for us it was a disappointment — not the standout meal we were hoping for on our first visit.

Fable was super helpful and patient with our questions when we ordered (first time here). Smash burger, arroz con pollo salad (with lots of kale), and sweet potatoes were all excellent. We will be back!

I’m visiting from out of state and decided to stop by Little Ray, and I’m so glad I did. The service was amazing, the staff was welcoming and attentive, and the tacos were absolutely phenomenal — fresh, flavorful, and prepared perfectly. Juan helped me during my visit and he was phenomenal. He was friendly, professional, and made the whole experience even better. Because of him and the incredible food, this place truly exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be coming back again the next time I’m in town. Highly recommend!

A little surprised by all of the glowing reviews after trying it out finally. Service was very slow and when we finally got our food it was nothing to brag about. The Arroz con Pollo bowl was flavorless and 90% kale. We also got some breakfast tacos and a kids meal. Everything was mid at best. Can’t say we will be back to try it again or recommend it to anyone.

I love that you can put as much salsa as you want on top, and the flour tortillas taste super fresh and delicious!! The staff were super friendly and the wait wasn’t bad, even given how super busy the place was. I love that handicapped parking is super close.
