We had carne asada and chile relleno with pork chile verde, and both were loaded with flavor. Tender, juicy meat seasoned to perfection. It was our first time there, so if it's your's, don't let the ordering process turn you away. Tell them it's your 1st time and be prepared to be awed by presentation of whats available. Great margaritas, too!

It’s been at least a decade since I’ve been back, having moved away from the West Side long ago. I was in the neighborhood and stopped for some breakfast. It was a huge portion that I thought would be two meals, but it was so good that I gobbled down the whole thing. The salsas were fresh and crisp, great accompaniments to the eggs, beans and rice. I talked with the owner’s son, it’s great to see this generational business. Sorry I didn’t get a pic in time…

Stopped in here on a Sunday afternoon. The service is amazing. The setup is interesting as you come in and walk towards the back where the open kitchen is located and some of the food is visible through glass. They take you order there and then assign you to a table where they will then bring your food. We started with the queso with pork and it was really good. Very different from any queso I’ve had before. My main course was the chilaquiles with beef which came with a side of beans. The beef literally melts in your mouth. Just amazing flavors. My wife got three enchiladas which comes rice and beans and she was able to pick from many options, pork, spicy pork, cheese and onion, beef, chipotle chicken, etc. You will definitely take home food! They have a street taco platter that I plan to try next time. They do have some tables for two if you want to sit outside as well as a small yet fully stocked bar. The area is great with several other restaurants around them.

Oh man the Chilaquiles sauce is amazing. I order huevos rancheros but If you go there for breakfast, you just gotta have Chilaquiles. Thanks for the service Benny!

This restaurant has very odd hours, and may show as being open on Google Maps or their website, but will in fact be closed; likewise, if it shows as closed, it may very well be open. This is the only reason why I have given only four stars for Service, because otherwise, the service was excellent and friendly. The owner patiently explained how their service works. It looks like a buffet (in the evening, anyway), but you just tell him/them what you want, and they'll bring it to your table. We were a bit confused and ordered way more food than we normally would at a restaurant. The food that we ordered was very good (not great), and is different enough from typical Mexican restaurants in the KC area to set it apart. The dining area is bright, cheery and clean. The dodgy hours will probably convince to not come back, though.
