Very nice atmosphere. Staff was really friendly and super attentive. It was pretty empty when we went early in the day, so not sure what it’s like on a busy evening. Loved the salsa trio! My only gripe is that my alcoholic beverage was mostly ice and was severely watered down.

This place is such a vibe! I love the decor with all the color and art! Also, it’s GINORMOUS, probably great for events! When I was walking down the block looking for the entrance, I was like omgg… so much outdoor seating - i definitely want to try it again in the summer. We came for lunch, around noon - one other couple in there besides us. For food, we started with the queso fundido, which you can order plain or with squash or with chorizo. I ordered plain and with a side of chips (you need something else because it only comes with 3 small tortillas). Plain still has some stuff in it, like onions, tomatoes, and my personal not favorite, jalapeños… so a spicy bite of that killed it for me (if they say it’s plain, it should be plain). Such a bummer. We also had a hard time getting a side of chips with the queso fundido, because they said they won’t do that - just the $15 chips and salsa, but we didn’t want a whole other app. They eventually brought us a small bowl of chips. The carnitas-stuffed avocado salad was SOOO good and HUGE. I could only eat about half of it. The tacos were tasty… but 3 of them with rice and beans for $26 (for lunch) seemed quite overpriced. Like I said, one appetizer, tacos (with rice and beans), and a salad and the bill was $75… way too much especially for an empty restaurant at lunchtime IMO. I’d come back for drinks because I like the vibe so much!

We went to eat brunch at paraiso on a Sunday morning and everything about it was superb. Food was delicious and so thoughtful, the plato fuertes down to the salsitas. Ambiance was also thoughtful with the abundance of cempasuchiles decorating the walls and tables. Restaurant was clean, comfortable,and staff were nice. Would recommend for brunch

Went here for happy hour, it was okay. The drink prices were nice but the food for the happy hour was a bit overpriced and not well portioned. The food was spicy and there was an extra charge for salsa which is unreasonable if the tacos are $6 each! The happy hour only comes with two tacos for $12 and the regular is $18 so that isn’t really a deal at all. The guac was greattt!! Amazing flavor! Also it is the end of may, the tables outside should be ready. Overall its pretty but some improvements can be made.

I realized I never carried my original review over here from Yelp. Better late than never, right? I’ve been back since my initial visit, and I’m still very pleased with the service and everything they offer. It’s been great to see this place continue to thrive. Original Review from 2020 Okay, so first of all, am I the only lush who went straight for the premixed cocktails instead of the empanadas? Only me? Alright, thought so lol. Upon entering, I was welcomed by Victor. This fantastic human behind the bar greeted me warmly and helped me navigate the shop. He explained what they had to offer and answered all of my usual “all in your business” questions with smiles and laughs. He also shared that they had only opened six months prior. To me, that was awesome, because anyone brave enough to open a restaurant in the middle of a pandemic is the GOAT. I ended up ordering a cup of coffee, an apricot oatmeal cookie, a pineapple empanada, and two premixed cocktails: Bel Va, Dear (yes, that is how it’s spelled lol) and El Diablo. Everything was surprisingly delicious, except the coffee. Unfortunately, it wasn’t my favorite and felt a bit watered down and milky. I should also mention that the space is divided into two areas. The entry is set up as a cafe and higher-end spirit market, offering everything from a standard cup of coffee to a really tasty El Diablo premixed cocktail. The restaurant area serves an amazing Mexican brunch along with colorful, vibrant dishes. Overall, my experience was great, and I knew I’d be back for brunch. Clearly, that prediction aged well.
