dLena does brunch differently, and it works. The setup: $45 gets you all-you-can-eat, $70 adds bottomless drinks. Instead of ordering off a menu, your server just starts cycling through the entire menu in tapas-sized portions, one after another. It sounds a little chaotic on paper but it flows well in practice, and it means you end up trying things you wouldn't have pointed at yourself. The flavors throughout were genuinely good, a cut above your standard Mexican restaurant. The mole in particular was excellent, the kind that actually tastes like it took some effort to make. Two misses: the chicken on the chicken and waffles was overcooked, and the salmon was too. Both proteins had the same problem, which makes me think there's something off in the kitchen's timing rather than just bad luck. When you're running an AYCE service where volume is the whole model, consistency on execution matters more, not less. Still, those were isolated stumbles in an otherwise solid parade of food. The value at $45 is real. Would go back and would recommend it to friends.

Loved it! Super nice vibe perfect for date night or a group dinner. Very good bar vibe too if you like sitting at bars. Food was delicious and I got a margarita but how pretty?! Ordered short rib tacos, tostados and crab guacamole. Theres a jazz lounge downstairs too - will def be back!

Absolutely loved my experience at dLeña in Washington, DC. The location is excellent, and the overall vibe is easily a 10/10. The decor is amazing—stylish, warm, and perfect for a great dinner spot. The noise level was also just right: lively enough to feel energetic, but still comfortable for enjoying dinner and conversation. I ordered a bottle of El Enemigo and the Wagyu Steak a la Piedra, and everything was excellent. The ingredients tasted fresh and high quality, and the food was prepared beautifully. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our waiter, Patricia, was especially great—so friendly, patient, and helpful with my order. She took the time to explain everything and made the experience even better. Highly recommend dLeña for anyone looking for great food, great service, and an excellent atmosphere in DC.

I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday here and I was impressed by the service, food, and atmosphere. My server, DJ, assisted me with the menu and made sure I was informed about my drink selection and gave me a clean show and serving of the Tomahawk steak. The presentation of the steak was clean and i enjoyed it. The taste of and cut of the meat was amazing and I would order again. The Maryland crab guacamole was also amazing! While I struggle to remember his name, the manager, was extremely attentive, along with DJ. I was quite late to my reservation and he still made sure I got a nice table and excellent service. I will most definitely be coming back and I thank everyone for making my birthday dinner feel special!

My husband and I attended the Valentine's Day special this year and despite running late, the staff at DLeña was so incredibly accommodating! I want to especially thank Nancy, Rita, and Maritza for being such wonderful humans and going above and beyond for us! The food was exceptional and the chef has an amazing flavor profile in his food that we truly loved! The baby kale salad (smoked grapes!!!), wagyu filet mignon, and passion fruit creme brule and strawberry cheesecake were to die for! Overall amazing experience and we will certainly be returning! 💕
