It’s been a while since I came here. Unfortunately, the quality has changed but the prices remained the same. First off, I only consider Uncle Julio’s for the fajitas and the homemade tortillas. Both did not deliver today. I ordered the combination fajitas - dinner portion. It was the size of a lunch portion. The beef had zero flavor it was just covered in melted butter. The sweet server brought out the flour tortillas and they were obviously store bought. So, we asked. What happened to the homemade tortillas? She said the machine has been broken and the one guy who can make them isn’t coming in until later but that the machine has been broken for a while….seriously that should have been expressed before ordering fajitas. It’s silly to have store bought fake tortillas when you can at the least go to fiesta or heb or get homemade ones. The portions were small, something in the beans has changed. They honestly taste like ranch style beans from the can. We spent $91 with tip on this meal and it was not worth that at all. Won’t be coming back ever. I’ll stick to Lupe Tortilla. The fajitas are insane and homemade tortillas are the size of your windshield. Sorry Julio

Last night I had dinner at the Uncle Julio’s on Camp Bowie Boulevard in Fort Worth, Texas. This was, years ago, the first and only Uncle Julio’s. The meal of skirt steak fajitas was fabulous, as always. I had eaten at this restaurant many times years ago (we had lived two blocks from it 25 years ago,) but this was my first visit in several years. It is a good as ever. One special thing about it now is a fabulous manager, Mr. Tyler Adams. He is so nice, friendly, and helpful. He was so good to me when he seated me. He seemed glad to hear my stories of eating here years ago. He made me feel good. The food at Uncle Julio’s is exceptional. I could not have been more pleased with my meal. The wait staff were all friendly and helpful, as well. I give this restaurant my highest recommendation.

Good vibe in this place. The staff were attentive and friendly. Josh, our server was quite pleasant. We could tell me was running from table to table but he was still trying. We ordered queso and guac for the table. The guac never came (but we got billed for it). It got pretty loud in there when it was packed but we could still talk. Our food was good. The queso they bring out was pretty tasty. Salsa was average. Josh recommended a plate for me and he was not wrong. It was really good. The enchiladas were great (just wish They were hot when I hit them.) The rice was your standard. The beans were pinto. To note: anyone using the search term for parking, they do have another lot in front of the apartments which was not full. Take a look at the sign photo I uploaded.

Julio's has spectacular taste in food and atmosphere. We ate out on the patio and enjoyed the creamy ice cream mango margarita. Wowza! So smooth and delicious! Then we shared the two tamale plate, beef and chicken and both were very tasty. The chicken tamale had tomatillo sauce and the beef had chile which had quite a bite to it. Then we shared the Tex Mex plate with two different enchiladas and a beef taco. Everything was spectacular. I particularly loved the salsa for the chips. It wasn't too chunky and not too smooth, just right. It had a more sophisticated flavor than any typical Mexican restaurant. I don't usually eat it elsewhere but this I couldn't resist because it just looked beautiful in the dish.

I'm 35 years old, I have been going to Uncle Julio's since my mother took me when I was 6 weeks old. From the time you sit down and try the chips with their in-house Smokey salsa that I can eat bowls of, to the one of a kind Uncle Julio's swirls, there is no other place I rather eat in the world. Their chicken and beef fajitas are legendary, as well as the Cameronès (Shrimp) fajitas with their special seasoning, I can dine on them until I am about to burst. And the Mexican butter that comes with the fajitas is legendary. No one else has anything like it. If you are ever in West Fort Worth, this is the place to eat. If you like Tex-Mex, this is that but leveled up. 100 out of 10, would recomend!!
