Very glad that I finally got to try this place for lunch. I was able to place a table side order online while my colleagues ordered in store. There were also pickup and delivery options. The store in clean and spacious, suitable for groups but also perfect for couples or solo meals. They also have ample outdoor seating. The only downside is parking in Deep Ellum. But the food was great and there were so many tasty options. In our group, everyone loved their meals, from various tacos to filling bowls. The chips and dips were a hit, especially the queso blanco (so good!) and the red velvet cake was good too. Lastly, the staff was friendly and attentive. Would definitely visit again!

I had an unexpectedly amazing experience at Velvet Taco. Honestly, we ended up there almost by accident. We had just left a baseball game and were looking for something to eat late at night. After a quick Google search, we found that Velvet Taco was still open—so we decided to give it a try without really knowing what to expect. What a surprise. From the moment we tried the food, it was clear this place was something special. The tacos were absolutely delicious—easily among the best Mexican-style food I’ve had in a long time. Every bite was packed with flavor, creative combinations, and high-quality ingredients. You can tell they take their concept seriously, even in a casual, laid-back setting. The atmosphere in Deep Ellum adds to the whole experience, especially late at night, giving it a vibrant and energetic feel. But the real highlight is the food—simple in format, but executed at a very high level. We were genuinely impressed by the quality and left already thinking about coming back. It’s one of those places you discover by chance and end up remembering as a highlight of your trip. If you’re in Dallas—especially if you’re out late and want something truly good to eat—I strongly recommend Velvet Taco. I would absolutely go back, and on my next visit to the city, it will definitely be on my list again.

First time here! The man that took my order on 4/9/26 lunch time was absolutely nice and very knowledgeable! I really enjoyed myself!! Food was so good and fresh and the queso and chips was a hit!! My drink was so good !I tried 6 tacos me and my husband WE LOVED IT!! We will be back very soon !!

I came here with no expectations except that a friend really wanted velvet tacos. I got the Spicy Tikka chicken and bacon smash burger taco. They blew my mind on how delicious the tacos were. I never imagine a Spicy Tikka taco would work but it managed to be probably my all time favorite taco. Highly recommend coming here.

Eclectic place... this is not a standard "taco" shop - they serve unique flavors for $5-$6 a pop, open very late so club-goers are passing through constantly which makes for a very *lively* environment! Red velvet cake is nothing exceptional
