Calacas was such a great find during our Nashville trip! Conveniently located right under the Residence Inn Nashville Downtown. The setup inside is adorable and had a cozy, relaxed vibe from the moment we walked in. Our server, Tom, was absolutely wonderful. He even asked if we had any allergies when ordering, which we really appreciated even though we didn't have any. It honestly showed how much they care about their customers. I don't think I've ever had a restaurant ask that before! He was also super attentive and kept our waters refilled so quickly throughout the meal. One thing we really liked was the atmosphere. We loved all the fun live music spots around Nashville too, but this was a nice change of pace if you're looking for more of a chill, relaxed vibe where you can easily enjoy conversation during dinner. We both ordered the asada tacos and they were SO delicious, exactly what we needed. The rice on the side tasted incredibly fresh too, and the tomato and corn mixed into it were the perfect addition. You could tell everything was made with care. The staff was constantly cleaning tables quickly after guests left, and overall the service was just amazing from start to finish. We had such a wonderful experience and will definitely be coming back next time we're in Nashville!

My wife and I are from Montana. We enjoy food and the culture of food, domestically and internationally. This restaurant is a hidden gem just a few blocks north of Broadway. The service was amazing in every aspect. From our Hostess, to the Manager, the Bartender, and our Server. Elena, was top notch, attentive and perfectly executed the delivery of every course we indulged. Our Spicy Margaritas were beautifully bold in flavor. Topshelf, with a topnotch selection of Tequila for the Tequila connoisseur. The Fish Ceviche encapsulated a beautiful pairing of fresh lime, avocado sauce, cilantro, with the Serrano peppers (just a delicate amount of heat). The Crispy Pork Belly Tacos we're truly an explosion of flavor, served at the perfect temperature. The Al Pastor Tacos consisted of well balanced blend of smoke, spices, and playful dose of pineapple. The Flan de Queso consisted of delightful melody of caramel and cream cheese. The density of their Flan had a pleasantly surprising texture (not gelatinous). Every course was plated perfectly! This restaurant is a place I would highly recommend if you're in Nashville don't miss out dining there, and take your time to enjoy their food and ambiance. Thank you, Charles & Sherry Phillips.

I had an excellent experience at Calacas Mexican Restaurant. The guava margarita was phenomenal—easily one of the best I’ve had—and the mole enchiladas were rich, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. What really stood out, though, was the service. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed the entire time. Great food, great drinks, and great service. We’ll absolutely be back!

We came here for happy hour (which is a GREAT deal). We had tacos, empanadas and margaritas. Everything was delicious. Really fresh food, great sauces and attentive service.

A great choice when visiting downtown and you are in the mood for some artisnal Mexican food. I was fortunate that they were one of the restaurants that opened up quickly after the winter storm as the place filled up quickly for dinner. Tomas did an awesome job suggesting some popular menu items and worked hard to keep all of his tables happy, since there was only two servers working and the place was full. I look forward to visiting again when I go downtown.
