Annika White 4 months agoFood was great, we all know that already but I wanna highlight something that was so impressive it could not go unpraised. I have a serious allergy to a food that is in a lot of their products (I did not know before I came). They were sooo diligent that my allergy was not overlooked. In the appetizers my allergy was taken out, they told me what salsas I could have and even modified my entree to be allergen friendly without my knowledge because it wasn’t listed on the ingredients. I also wanted to praise the fact that all of the staff is epi pen trained and they have epi pens on site if needed. This was not the experience I expected to have it was above expectations and set the standard for great service. Side note on the food: all of it was fresh and delicious you cannot go wrong with any of it.
Will 2 months agoDo yourself a favor treat yaself and enjoy a night of amazing food and an even better hospitality! Eric was amazing from the moment we were seen til the time we left. We were quoted 1hr wait for a table for 2 and usually I'd scoot but the energy throughout the main room invited me to grab a cocktail and enjoy my surroundings. Not sure how long our wait was but by the time we got seated I was excited to see what the kitchen had to offer and I was not disappointed! The attention to detail and overall care that was put into each dish wasn't unnoticed and very much appreciated and refreshing. Marcus made sure we were set and made solid recommendation all around I appreciate you. Dan was an encyclopedia of knowledge when it came to Momochos lore and was one of the most humble humans I've come across... The hot sauce was amazing thank you! After setting my sights on the Barbacoa entree I can't rave about the food enough... Overall from start to couch I could talk about this and that but I emplore you to take the time and enjoy the experience you wont be disappointed!
julian kemp 3 weeks agoThis place does not miss. It is now one of my favorite restaurants to go to. My girlfriend and I came in on a slow Wednesday afternoon. The ambiance was relaxing and we got the nice cozy booth at end of the bar ordered the Taco's with a side of rice and beans and a few margaritas. The food was delicious and we had a damn good time, but what really impressed us was the incredible service. Our server Dan was literally amazing, highly attentive and made us feel at home. I don't think I have ever had better service in my life. After that experience we said we had to come back again. So, we did. We came back to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday on a Friday. To our surprise the place was packed and busy. Since they don't do reservations, we knew for sure we wouldn't get our cozy booth and the service would be nowhere near as good as it was last time. I was pleasantly surprised. As we enter the packed restaurant, a man came up to us with such a positive and friendly attitude and told us about the wait time and that he would add us to the list. While we waited, we ordered margaritas and talked further with the man. This man turned out to be the Owner of Momocho, Eric. This guy is one of the coolest dudes you'll ever meet. He gave us a few of his delicious recipes he created, told us about his restaurant, and remarked on how great his incredible staff is, especially Dan. After the wait, Eric escorted us to the top floor, and to our surprise he put us at the "Chef's table". We had front row seats to watching the Amazing Chef's cook. Chef Manny was fantastic, watching him work, talking with him, and answering our questions about the different dishes made are experience that much more enjoyable. He took our orders: "Little Tacos" we got the Pollo, Machaca, Side of rice, Barbacoa with a fried egg and a flight of Margaritas. Everything was insanely good. The Margaritas are very tasty definitely recommend. At the end of our meal Dan personally delivered my girlfriend one of their delicious "Chocobomba" desserts with a candle in it and sang happy birthday with me. Overall, this place is a 10 out of 10. I highly recommend it. I want to sincerely thank Eric, Dan, and Manny for the incredible experience, and for making my girlfriend's birthday a memorable and special one. Also wanted to toss in here that it was fantastic seeing one of my favorite servers from the now closed restaurant "Xinji" working on the Momocho team. Shout out to Jack.
Nilsia Beato a year agoI am very pleased with the service, atmosphere, and the food. Their homemade sauce was exceptionally delicious. For a refreshing beverage, I highly recommend their cucumber Margaritas. The mango margarita was also quite enjoyable!
The Soft Spot 10 months agoMy partner and I are huge fans of Momocho and are delighted always by the service. The owner was hosting and you can tell he really loves his community in Ohio City as well as new guests and his staff! If we didn’t want to wait the 45 min for a table- he even suggested his local neighbors for us to try out incase. (We have, they’re all excellent as well!). Incredible atmosphere and it’s hard to ever get anything else outside of the machaca taquitos because they’re just THAT good. I’d also highly recommend the black pepper pecorino guacamole. We are always scraping the bowl clean with this one as well. I don’t usually do reviews but the love and care at this place deserves to be recognized!
