I was super excited to try Cantina Contramar after hearing all the hype, and while the place is definitely good, I wouldn’t say it was amazing. We tried a variety of dishes throughout the night. The queso fundido with chorizo was good, but pretty basic. The atun tostada had really good flavors, but honestly left me wanting more. For a $22 tostada, it felt extremely small with very little product. The side of guac was also good, although I feel like for a restaurant at this level, tableside guacamole would make more sense and elevate the experience a bit more. The pescadillas were just okay, nothing too memorable. The tacos de gaoneras, however, were easily the best thing we had all night. Great flavor and something I’d absolutely order again. The camarones al ajillo tasted fresh and flavorful, but they were unfortunately too salty. I do have to give credit to the desserts because both were really good. The merengue con fresas was light, fresh, and balanced perfectly, while the tarta de limón had great flavor and was probably my favorite way to end the meal. One thing I absolutely have to highlight is the service. The staff was extraordinary from start to finish and definitely helped make the experience enjoyable. Overall, I’d come back to try more items on the menu because there’s still potential there, but this first visit didn’t completely blow me away.

This was the most incredible meal I’ve had in Vegas. Unbelievable food from beginning to end. This might also be the best fine dining Mexican meal I’ve had ever. Highlights: The broiled oysters, the flan, the shrimp crudo, the cucumber margarita. Every single item was 10/10 though. Would absolutely come back to try other items on the menu. Also, our server was incredible. He made the experience so enjoyable!

Had a great date night at Cantina Contramar inside Fontainebleau Las Vegas. The atmosphere is stylish but still fun and welcoming, perfect for a night out. Service was smooth and attentive. Jorge was an amazing server, and Tony the sommelier really elevated the experience with a great wine and N/A recommendation. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully done, especially the seafood! Food was so good I forgot to take pictures!. Mocktails were also well balanced and refreshing absolutely perfect Overall, a really enjoyable dining experience. I can't wait to come back for my girls night. as a local I am super excited to have found such an amazing restaurant and will definitely be telling everyone about it

Gabriela Cámara’s newest restaurant in Las Vegas at the Fountainebleau! Very exciting and upscale Mexican food in a beautiful atmosphere. The portions are modest so if your looking for excess then you may want to try another spot. The food here is refined and highlights Chef Gabriela’s viewpoint. I really enjoyed the Ceviche appetizer here. Service was friendly and attentive. Would come back to try more items!

We had an incredible evening at Cantina Contramar and it truly felt like a one of a kind dining experience. From the moment we sat down, everything was exceptional. The guacamole with homemade totopos was fresh and delicious, and the Ceviche Contramar was outstanding. The Tacos de Gaoneras (wagyu beef tacos) were packed with flavor, but the standout dish of the night for me was the Pescado a la Talla Contramar a true culinary masterpiece. What made the evening even more memorable was Tony! The in-house sommelier. He thoughtfully paired each course with cocktails and wines I likely wouldn’t have chosen on my own, and every pairing complemented the meal perfectly. His expertise truly elevated the entire experience! Our server, Troy, was equally exceptional. Over the course of our two-plus-hour dinner, he never missed a beat. He explained each dish in detail, answered every question with patience, and made us feel genuinely cared for throughout the night. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday, and the team at Cantina Contramar made the evening feel incredibly special. My wife had a wonderful birthday dinner, and we left feeling grateful for such a memorable experience. Thank you for making her birthday celebration so special we’ll definitely be back.
