Edgardo Delgado 4 months agoI am Puerto Rican and don’t go to Puerto Rican restaurants in Atlanta because they disappoint me. Our best bet is Mexican restaurants; the quality is usually good, though they all have an Americanized standard menu. The ones that depart from that are very bad or very good. This one departed from that, which is on the good side by far. The menu is simple, and what we ordered was delicious. Try the freshly made guacamole as an appetizer. But they have a secret weapon, the person helping you! She was very helpful, answered all our questions, and recommended the best. She was 90% of our experience there. We want to thank her for treating us so well. We are older, and in these times of paperless receipts, the names escape us. But you know how you are. Thank you.
Sierra B a month agoThe staff came off friendly, and I believe the owner had a brief conversation with me as well. They were training somebody new hopefully he does well! I ordered a shrimp, fish and brisket taco. I don’t think they gave me brisket I believe it was birria (shredded beef) it was tender but that’s not what I thought I was ordering, it was good. I didn’t like the fish at all which I believe was (Mai Mai) and the shrimp tasted regular. I do believe they could work on better seasoning the food and getting a more diverse drink menu. The dragonfly drink was good and the flavors were amazing! My favorite was the green rice! The establishment was clean including the bathroom.
Susan L. 2 months agoThe food here is delicious! It’s full of flavor, and each plate is different. It’s real food, homemade with care. Beverages like Horchata & Hibiscus Tea are made fresh. This restaurant is in a whole other realm from the food we encounter in so many “Mexican” restaurants, where each dish tastes the same whether it’s called a taco or enchilada or burrito. The decor is also unique & delightfully bohemian with its folk art appeal. You can eat outside, inside or on a covered patio. The decadently rich Tres Leches cake is big enough for two! Our server, Elizabeth, gave excellent service. We will definitely be back next time we’re in Decatur.
Real Reviewer a month agoA hidden gem with outstanding food! We found this restaurant while visiting family graves at the Oakland Cemetery, just a short walk down the road. It’s tucked behind another business, so it’s a bit hidden, but absolutely worth finding. The food is outstanding. We did have to pay for chips and salsa—which I didn’t love since most Mexican restaurants offer them for free—but it was only $3 and delicious. They also provide complimentary water on the table, and even that was good. We ordered drinks as well. The flower on the table was a nice added touch. The steak and goat cheese enchiladas were incredible, and I loved the rice and black beans. My husband and son ordered the tacos al pastor and said they were really good too. Overall, the food was a definite highlight. Service was friendly but a little slow, so it took us longer than expected to get refills and pay for our meal to get out of there. My only real complaint is the artwork near the bathroom—a painting of a naked woman that felt out of place and not ideal for children to see. Despite those small drawbacks, the food alone makes this spot worth visiting.
Man Mensa 7 months agoI stumbled on this place by accident a couple of weeks ago, and now I basically go at least once a week. I love the location; it's kind of hidden behind a tattoo shop but it has its own free parking space (anyone in downtown knows this isn't always the case). You have a great view outside (especially nice in fall) and the food isn't just good but comes out very fast! Customer service is also nice: very friendly and attentive servers. I've been multiple times now and this has been my experience each time. Highly recommend!
