Hurlie Yang 6 months agoKoko was an absolute gem in Coconut Grove. 🌿Every dish we ordered was full of flavor and beautifully presented. What really stood out was the service: warm, attentive, and genuinely top-tier, which made the entire experience even better. The ambience is peaceful and super cute, the kind of place where you instantly feel relaxed but still immersed in a great vibe. From the food to the atmosphere, Koko delivered on every level. Definitely a spot we’ll be returning to! 👏🏼👏🏼
Stiltsville 2 months agoKoko in the Grove is wonderful! So happy to have this place So close to my house. Beautiful and vibrant decor and atmosphere. They have a variety of margaritas to choose from as well as other libations. We went with the Queso fundido To start with And then we each had two variations of the Mole. I’ve been to a couple of other Mexican restaurants and Koko by far has been the best. Not everyone can make a great mole, just sayin. Another round of margaritas, please!, as we enjoy the people watching in this beautiful ambience. We ended our meal with A wonderful bread pudding. I may have the name wrong, so please refer to the photo that I took just before digging in. I want to call out the Great staff that works there. They were all so friendly and serviceable, from the bartender to the waiter to the food runner. Got to meet them all and then they’re all super cool. The manager came by and introduced himself and was so pleasant and personable that he chatted with us for a while. His name is Wilson (Like in “Castaways”) But more talkative. Thank you, Wilson and our wonderful waiter for making this birthday celebration so special.
Kamylle Carbajal 5 months agoI absolutely love Koko. From the atmosphere to the food to the waitstaff, everything about this place is amazing. It’s truly authentic Mexican cuisine made with high-quality ingredients, and you can taste the care in every dish. I’ve been there multiple times and honestly never get tired of the menu. there’s always something incredible to enjoy. The drinks are just as incredible. My favorite is the Tamarindo one, which you can have with or without alcohol either way, it’s a must-try. Overall, it’s one of those places you keep coming back to and happily recommend.
Spudnik a month agoThe food and decor were amazing, but unfortunately the service and atmosphere took away from the experience. We came in during the day, around 12, hoping to enjoy our only day off together. We originally sat at the bar, but within five minutes we closed our check and asked to move to a table because the bartender seemed either like he was having a bad day or like we were bothering him. While we were there, it seemed like staff was doing some type of inventory behind the bar. We noticed liquor bottles being married during service, loud staff conversations that we could hear from about 20 feet away over our own voices, and the person doing inventory was also stepping and standing on top of the bar right next to the service well. That honestly made us feel gross and uncomfortable. Our server at the table was much better, but even after we shared that we were excited to explore the menu and drinks, there wasn’t much engagement or guidance. About 40 minutes later, we had our check and ended up walking a few blocks to CHOP to continue enjoying our day. Beautiful place with great food, but the daytime service felt tense, loud, and disconnected. It was disappointing because the restaurant itself has a lot going for it.
