The food was cool. This is a trendy spot in downtown SD with very clear branding. The products matches the location. I got the cali mar y Tierra burrito and a drink, which racked me about $21 before tip. I think that was my mistake. The portions were nice albeit being expensive. I think I should’ve tried the tacos instead, but they were around $5 a piece. The burrito had steak and shrimp with maybe about 4 small shrimps inside. The flavor itself was okay. The taste and feeling of the place was a bit indicative of a gentrified downtown area. There was an expansive salsa bar which I appreciated, but their spiciest habanero salsa barely had a kick to it for my tastes. It feels a bit catered to a white palette which I can’t fault them too much for given the location. It also didn’t help that I ordered a cali style burrito which already falls into that style of food. The staff was working hard to keep everything clean and organized which I can appreciate. Overall, the food was decent, the atmosphere was nice, I might just try something else next time.

Having spent some time devouring dozens of tacos in San Diego, I finally went in on a super filling burrito. They had the Cali Style Mar Y Tierra. It was SUPER huge and loaded with so much meat. A perfect way to consume different delicious sauces from their salsa bar! You can see them making tortilla's FRESH - always a good sign. I also tried their elotes, but will say I found it mostly tasting like lime and I wish they charred the corn.

Came here around 9 PM on a Thursday. It was pretty busy, but there were still plenty of seats available, and the place was very clean. No wait at the counter either, which was a nice surprise given the crowd. We ordered a few things: •Carne Asada Tacos: honestly, these were a bit dry. The salsa bar helped a lot and added some much-needed flavor, but on their own they didn’t really stand out. •Carne Asada Quesadilla: this was actually pretty good. Definitely heavy on the cheese, but once you dipped it in the salsa, it came together nicely. They also have a solid craft beer selection, although a few options were out when we went, and no IPAs available. I ended up going with a pale ale, which was decent. Overall, the service was great and the space is clean and well-kept, especially for being right in the heart of downtown. Food-wise, it’s just kind of mid. Not bad, but not something I’d go out of my way for.

Fantastic spot for tacos. They had stuffed tacos full of meat and it was very, very flavorful. I got the carne asada tacos and I love them. They have a topping bar where you can just grab as many limes or sauces that you need, which I love. I hate having to ask for extra limes or sauce and here I can just grab it myself. The drinks are not real agua fresca though that was a bit of a disappointment. I ended up getting a soda instead but I would have loved a fresh horchata. Still food wise I highly recommend this place and I will be back next time I come. I asked for the tacos with no guacamole and they still put guacamole on the tacos but it was so good that I'm not mad about it.

Fully loaded tacos and a fantastic salsa bar! Clean and very spacious! We only ordered a few tacos as we were just starting our taco crawl, but everything looked so good! The tacos were neatly wrapped but they were so juicy, we ended up making a mess anyway LOL 😆
