Alexander Fels 2 months agoI was here at my first day in SD and it was some of the best mexican Food i have eaten. the Guacamole is really, really good and the Burrito was made excellently. The waitress was very friendly, but when i tried to eat lunch there on another day, i could not get in, because seemingly the only 2 persons working were serving a big group of "cowgirls"... had to go to la puerta instead, wich is also good, but foodwise, it was better here.
James Gockelen 11 months agoFirst night in San Diego, we fancied some Mexican food, we tried this little spot based on the positive Google reviews. We weren’t disappointed, the food was really tasty, comforting and just what we wanted. Great selection of drinks, although we just opted for a couple of beers. There was a nice vibe, a good buzz without being too loud. lots of happy diners getting stuck in. The service was really friendly, from front of house to our server and anyone that passed the table. The service was also super speedy, if anything too quick… we did feel like we were in and out in 30 mins. We didn’t ever feel rushed… but didn’t really feel like we’d relaxed into the place before we were heading out. Would still definitely recommend 👍🏻
Morgan Bembry 3 weeks agoOur party of 4 (two middle aged travelers and one's 70-something parents who don't travel much anymore) visited on our first night in San Diego having flown from the East Coast. We were going to another restaurant that had been recommended to us, but it had an hour wait and hangriness was imminent. It took a few minutes for anyone to come to the stand and seat us, and the guy who did was not terribly welcoming, but it turns out there were two huge (like 12+) coming so that was probably part of it. I'm glad we weren't deterred, because everything we had was amazing! Guac had excellent flavor and texture, and the chips were thick and had to be made in house. Drinks - pineapple margarita, jalapeno and cucumber margarita, old fashioned, white wine. The Tajin rim is a particularly good addition to balance the sweetness of the pineapple. I think my shrimp burrito was the best - utterly loaded with shrimp - but everyone was very happy with what they got. Shrimp quesadilla, carnitas enchiladas, grilled fish taco, shrimp taco, veggie taco. Portions were very generous - the carnitas enchiladas probably the smallest - and we have a ton of leftovers of the other three. Vinnie was a great server, even while assisting with one or both of the huge groups.
Darlynn Dennie 10 months agoThe tacos and drinks did not disappoint. We came back the next day to try even more tacos. We tried the shrimp, chicken, steak, carnitas, and the Cali tacos. The flavor of the different tacos were so good.
Hyojin Seo 7 months agoThe food was okay and the restaurant itself was nice. However, I felt uncomfortable that the server selected a 20% tip for me without asking. I normally don’t mind tipping 20%, but I would prefer to choose it myself rather than having it entered for me.
