The food here is AMAZING! I’ve lived in Oakland for 10 months now and it’s my first time eating here. And oh. My. God. I 10000% recommend. The tostada raspada is a must and the torta ahogado. The staff, especially Jerson, were extremely friendly and amazing. I don’t know what they put in the frijoles but they did it amazing. This is my new favorite spot. 11/10 recommend eating here. You won’t regret it

Phenomenal meal, absolutely delicious! Food was fresh, light, and brought me back to flavors I haven’t tasted in the Bay Area in some time. The michelada negra was perfect complement to the tacos dorados (chicken, queso, picadillo, papas) and chicken tostada (I almost got a second one it was that good). Everyone was friendly and kind but to be honest service needs a bit of work. I believe it was the second day opened so definitely expect service to smooth out. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to be back next weekend to try the rest of the menu (pozole looked fire).

Going through the motions...I was extremely disappointed with the "meal" I had here. We (me and wife) were expecting a out of this world food experience and it was well below average. That's not even the right word choice to describe how terrible the food was. I ordered the original tostada and it came out cold. No warmth to the meat or bean paste at all. The carnitas were bland and dry. My wife had the cheese tostada and it was just as awful. I told the waiter my meal was cold and he asked if I wanted it more hot. He takes it back, brings it back out again and it's still cold. The waiter was indifferent about the whole "service" he provided. Didn't even check back I'm to see if everything was good. Majorly disappointed. They should be ashamed of themselves for going through the motions with their reputation of "great" tostadas. That's a bunch of BS. Maybe they were having an off night. Yet you can't have an off night if you have a reputation of having the best tostada in the bay area. All this business about best tostada in the nation is absolutely false.

This was our first visit to the Cenaduria Elvira Restaurant in Oakland and looking forward to returning again to try more menu offerings. During our lunch visit today, we enjoyed staring off with a couple beers, tostada chips & beans, followed by a variety of crispy tacos and a torta ahogada. Everything arrived to the table fast and was delicious! Our Server and wait staff were very friendly, engaging, and helpful answering our menu questions. The restaurant had both indoor and outdoor patio seating. The restaurant was nicely decorated and loved the feel with the open kitchen. We will be back soon!

I decided to try this new restaurant out after hearing about it on social media. They started in the owner's backyard during the peak of COVID, and now they have their own brick-and-mortar restaurant in Oakland! The tostadas raspadas are shipped directly from Mexico! Of course, I had to try one. I elected for the Tostada Raspada Sensilla, and I also tried a Rajas Sope (not pictured). Both were delicious. I should have asked for cheese on my raspada, but I was able to add some Mexican sour cream, along with the pickled onions and radishes provided at every table. My partner got the raspada with chicken and loved it. We went on a Friday evening, and there was no wait. The service was friendly, attentive, and the restaurant was clean. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area again.
